The Flaming Lips plan to ring in the new year with the Beatles.
Frontman Wayne Coyne posted the group's cover of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" online as a preview to the Lips' New Year's Eve concert in Aspen, Colorado.
"The Future Heart" says they'll be playing a set list filled with late-period Beatles classics penned by John Lennon.
In addition to "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds," they've also been rehearsing "Tomorrow Never Knows," "Come Together, "Across the Universe," and others.
The gig further showcases the Flaming Lips' penchant for elaborate New Year's Eve concerts. In recent years they've covered Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" and played their entire 1999 classic "The Soft Bulletin."
